The journey to Cool Travel Mom started when my husband and I welcomed our first child. Life quickly became more exciting and chaotic as our second and third kids arrived within a few short years. Thankfully, being a "go with the flow" type of person, I embraced the unpredictability and matched my husband's equally spontaneous nature. Together, we decided to take life—and parenting—one adventure at a time.
From Childhood Road Trips to Family Travels
Growing up, my family would pack into a brown Toyota van for annual road trips from the Midwest to the East Coast. These trips were cramped, loud, and absolutely unforgettable. With New Kids on the Block or Erasure blasting through the speakers, we laughed, sang, and soaked up the joy of simply being together.
As time passed and those trips faded into memories, I longed to recreate that sense of connection. Then came camping. Introduced by a friend, our first camping experience was messy and wet—it poured rain, and water seeped into our tent. But that weekend showed us the beauty of shared challenges and simple joys. It sparked a love for the outdoors that grew into family RV trips and cross-country adventures.
