A Good Friday Reflection: The Key to Freedom

There once was a Catholic woman who wandered through the winding roads of life—raising kids, chasing adventures, and learning to balance love, faith, and forgiveness. One day, she found herself standing still, heart heavy with wounds—some self-inflicted, others handed to her by people she trusted.

But then, God handed her a key.

Not just any key—but the key that unlocks the door to happiness. It didn’t look grand. It looked simple. Humble. But powerful. And it came with a choice:

“Do you forgive, or do you remain a prisoner of your pain?”

As your mom, I want so many things for you.

Adventure. Joy. Laughter. Growth.

But more than anything, I want you to know what it means to live a life rooted in Jesus.

In a world that’s messy and confusing, I want you to:

• Here's some stuff

• Serve without needing to be seen

• Celebrate with gratitude

• Love even when it costs something

• Forgive because Jesus first forgave

• Sing when you feel joyful, and especially when you don’t

• Trust even in uncertainty

Because this life isn’t just about doing all the right things.

It’s about remembering who you belong to—

And living in a way that reflects Him.

✨ 14 Stations of the Cross: Lessons from the Journey

1️⃣ Jesus is Condemned to Death

We, too, condemn with excuses, judgments, and assumptions. But we’re called to HOPE—even when truth feels blurry. Let us seek truth in forgiveness.

2️⃣ Jesus Carries His Cross

He walks—silently. Obediently. So should we. No need to resist God’s hand. Embrace the humanity He sees as beautiful.

3️⃣ Jesus Falls the First Time

Weakness is not failure. It’s human. Beaten and abandoned, Jesus pressed forward. Can we?

4️⃣ Jesus Meets His Mother

Heartbreaking. A mother’s love, a child’s suffering. This is the legacy of love and sacrifice. Are we brave enough to express our feelings—out loud?

5️⃣ Simon Helps Jesus

Sometimes, we’re Simon. Sometimes, we need a Simon. Step in. Be the one who helps carry the weight. Don’t wait to be asked.

6️⃣ Veronica Wipes Jesus’ Face

A small act of love leaves a lasting mark. Let us never underestimate the power of gentleness.

7️⃣ Jesus Falls Again

Even the strongest fall. But His fall reminds us to return—to Him. “Come to me, all you who are weary...”

8️⃣ Jesus Meets the Women

Tears don’t fix everything. Wholehearted change does. Ask Him to soften your heart and lead you deeper.

9️⃣ Jesus Falls the Third Time

He gets back up—again. Can we do the same in our marriages, families, and faith walks?

🔟 Jesus is Stripped of His Garments

Left with nothing but faith. That’s when we are most real. In our vulnerability, we see God.

1️⃣1️⃣ Jesus is Nailed to the Cross

The world mocked, the crowd watched. But Jesus stayed. In your pain, don’t retaliate. Act with love.

1️⃣2️⃣ Jesus Dies on the Cross

“It is finished.” He forgave as He died. Could we learn to forgive in our hardest moments too?

1️⃣3️⃣ Jesus is Taken Down

In His mother’s arms once again. Silent. Still. Finished. What is God asking you to lay down today?

1️⃣4️⃣ Jesus is Buried

The crowd has left. Silence remains. But Light is coming. Let us bury our hurts with Him—and rise renewed.

💞 A Mother’s Legacy, A Family’s Mission

Mary, His mother, never left His side. Even in sorrow. She stood at the foot of the Cross with fierce, faithful love.

So, moms, what kind of love are we modeling?

Let’s raise children who know that real strength is in humility. That forgiveness unlocks the heart’s greatest joy. That God's purpose is bigger than our pain.

This Good Friday, may your family pause—not just to reflect—but to realign. To say, “Lord, use us. We are Yours.”

Because even in this chaotic world—between road trips, messes, and beautiful chaos—there is always Light.

And it shines brightest in a family who chooses grace, forgiveness, and love.
