Last night was one of those evenings that remind me why I keep saying “yes” to showing up, even when my introverted side wants to stay in and recharge. I stepped into the Chicagoland Real Estate Investors Network Mixer in Arlington Heights with one goal: to build new relationships, seek out meaningful partnerships, and connect with like-minded people who believe in collaboration over competition.
What I didn’t expect was to meet someone who would leave such a lasting impression in just one evening.
She walked into the room with quiet confidence and grace—stylish, collected, full of energy. You know how some people just have that magnetic presence? That was her. We got to talking, and I quickly realized this woman is a powerhouse wrapped in kindness. A notary with a widespread portfolio of licenses and experience, a savvy businesswoman, and someone who still has it in every way.

She had us all laughing with a story about her family, one that showed how she lights up their lives with humor and warmth. She reminded me that you can be successful, accomplished, and seasoned in life while still knowing how to have fun and not take yourself too seriously.

Even after undergoing a medical procedure, she found time to handmake over 100+ customized, quilted blankets for kids and adults—each one personalized with love. All while still working. That’s the kind of heart she has. Selfless. Creative. Purpose-driven.
And in that short time together, I didn’t just hear her story—I felt it. It reminded me why I go to these events. Sometimes it's not about landing the next deal or getting the perfect pitch in—sometimes it's about the human moments. The ones where you pause and simply listen. Where connection happens without a business card, but with a genuine exchange of stories and hearts.
