The Road We've Walked
We’ve taken many roads as a family—some filled with laughter and sunshine, others soaked in tears and unexpected detours. But if there's one road that speaks louder than any mountain pass or beach trail we've walked, it’s the dusty path Jesus took on Palm Sunday.
The same crowd that shouted “Hosanna!” would cry out “Crucify Him!” days later. And there, hanging on the cross, Jesus cried out, “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?”
It’s a cry that echoes in the hearts of so many moms, dads, kids—families. Maybe it echoes in yours.
Trusting the One with Authority
As families, we often walk paths where we feel uncertain or even abandoned—financial struggles, parenting challenges, broken relationships. And sometimes, we ask that same question Jesus did:
"God, where are You in all of this?"
It’s not a weakness. It’s real.
But here’s where it shifts: if we’re honest, many of us walk through life unsure if we even trust the One leading the way.
Let’s take it down to something simple—if you work for someone, do you trust your boss?
Would you follow their lead even if you didn't see the full picture?
If the answer is no, then why stay under their authority?
St. Paul trusted his "Boss"—Christ Jesus. Not because life got easier, but because he believed in who was leading him. That’s the kind of trust that makes faith come alive. Christianity isn’t just about believing facts. It’s about trusting Jesus.
Ten Palm Sunday Truths for the Family Journey
These truths aren’t just for the theologians or saints in stained glass windows. They’re for us—in minivans, around dinner tables, at campsite fire circles, and bedtime prayers.
Jesus rode in on a donkey. Not a war horse. Not a throne. Moms and dads, humble leadership is how we reign in our homes.
2. Our Pains Unite Us.
Family life isn’t always easy. But our suffering isn't wasted. It binds us, deepens love, and bears fruit when we let Christ in.
3. Obedience Opens Doors.
Even when we don’t get it—when we say yes to God’s nudges, His blessings flow.
Even when you feel alone, He’s walking beside you—whispering peace behind the chaos.
That friend who hurt you. That child who pushed you away. Jesus loved Judas—fully. We’re invited to do the same.
Emotion comes and goes. Faith digs deep. It grows when we root it in truth, not just feeling.
Not every pain needs a post or defense. Sometimes, just being in the suffering—eyes fixed on Jesus—says it all.
He saved us not with a sword, but by giving Himself away. Families thrive when we do the same.
In a world chasing influence, Jesus teaches: humility is the path to glory.
Palm Sunday shouts celebration. Good Friday feels like abandonment. But Easter is coming. Don’t leave in the middle of the story.
A Journey Made Sacred
As a traveling family, we’ve learned that not every road leads to instant joy. Some lead through valleys. But every single time, the journey becomes sacred when we trust the One leading us.
So today, as we wave our own palms and remember the Passion of Christ, may we choose trust over doubt, love over fear, and humility over pride.
Let’s walk the journey together—with Jesus as our true Boss.
Stay rooted. Stay present. Keep traveling in grace. 🌿
