Guiding Our Journey with Faith and Love

Sundays hold a special place in our family’s week—a moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks to God for all the blessings and adventures we’ve been given. As a mom, I feel a deep responsibility to guide our family not just on the road, but in faith. Life is unpredictable, and in the blink of an eye, everything we hold dear—our health, our possessions, even our senses—can be taken away. That’s why, no matter where we are, we make it a priority to let God be the Master of our journey.

A Faithful Start to Every Adventure

Before we even set out on any trip—whether by car, plane, or even a quick errand run—we start with a prayer. It’s a tradition I’ve instilled in our family, a way to center ourselves and invite God to guide us safely on our way. And at the end of every prayer, we have a little ritual: we say, “I love you.”

It might seem like a small addition, but to me, those three words are powerful. In a world where love is so often taken for granted, I want my kids to grow up knowing its importance. Saying “I love you” not only reinforces our bond but reminds us of God’s love for us—a love that is unconditional and ever-present.

Gratitude Beyond the Struggles

One of the lessons I’ve learned over time is how easy it is to call on God when we’re struggling, but how often do we turn to Him when things are going well? It’s something I wanted to shift for our family. Yes, life has its ups and downs, but God is with us in both the valleys and the peaks.

When we’re blessed with a smooth journey, a breathtaking view, or even a moment of laughter in the car, I remind my kids to thank God for those moments. Gratitude shouldn’t just be reserved for the hard times we’ve overcome—it should be woven into the fabric of our daily lives, especially in the joyful moments.

Making Faith Our Compass

As a mom, my role is to ensure my kids not only enjoy the adventures we embark on but also grow with values that will guide them throughout life. Faith, prayer, and love are at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s gathering together on a Sunday to worship online when we’re traveling or pausing to pray before a hike, we anchor ourselves in Him.

And when life gets chaotic, I hold onto the words, “Be still, I am here.” They remind me to trust in His plan and find peace in His presence, even in the middle of life’s busyness.
